i wasn't down there for a vacation to tell you the truth. Instead of giving your money to some company. Maybe save up and go there for yourself and HELP in person.

i might as well throw it out there. I had a friend who ran a orphanage in Africa. He came up to my town every year to raise money for the place. he had about 40 or so kids. he was married and his wife was expecting a child. Anyways about 8 months after he left here and went back home, he unfortunately had a heart attack. What do you think happened to his orphanage, it was closed down. Kids weren't moved to others. They just left them where they sat. Nice isn't it?

With the way the government works out there, i wouldn't be surprised if 90% of the funds ppl sent end up in some warlords pockets.. helping lots.

i will admit, it isn't every single person in africa to blame for what is happening.

read this article, i did and maybe i am an a*shole (pretty sure i am) but it makes me thing its a waste of money.

HOW is it helping?? tell me????

The average person was poorer in 2007 then in 1973. I don't understand how your parents 120 a month is helping. The get worse every year!

i just read a few articles on africa and it pretty much says you can throw all the money you want into that place, its not going to do much more then feed the dead.

and when i said a FEW i was being sarcastic. Sure we don't have millions and millions of ppl in canada, but we have a fair amount and there is a huge percent that are poverty. Ok fine we don't compare to africa but its still homeless, poverty. its all the same. PPl die every day. Our numbers arn't as high as africa.

There is also programs set up to help africa, but is it working????????it is, tell me the truth? or do you even know?

how does Canada not need your support? i do believe there are a few homeless, diseased, hungry, cold.. etc around. but then again it sounds like there isn't according to your "my own country doesn't need my support"
As long as you think its a good thing. Great. what ever makes you sleep at night.

I just believe my country, province, town comes first because if we end up like Africa. WE ARE f*ckED!

For decades, Africans have tried to solve their continent’s problems. For decades, the world has been trying to solve Africa’s problems. Yet to no avail.

Why? Why have billions of dollars and good intentions been unable to lift Africa out of its myriad of problems? Is there something that has been overlooked?

Honestly what do you think your money you send them is doing??

there is a nice little stat! for all who pay into world vision.
the average person was poorer in 2003 than he was in 1973 in Africa. Where is your money truly going when you pay world vision??
I have nothing against the country, or to anyone who pays world vision or other organizations. I might be doing a good thing. Some government and the richest ppl have been doing the same for decades, but it seems its not doing much?? why??? Why can the world dish out 12.5 million dollars a year (for the past 40 years, 500 mill) to Africa and the ppl there are only getting worse? why?? I would rather dish that money to my own country to make it better, so my family, my kids, grand kids, great grand kids and so forth don't have to live in a war zone, in poverty, ravaged with disease, unable to work, or live past 40. I don't know about you, but i would rather make my life and my families future TOP PRIORITY! i have a sense for my life.

the real question is... who needs it the most. Would you rather let your OWN country DIE and save some other country that (from the stats and such) will kill themselves by spreading a incurable disease and reproduce and pass it onto there kids???

what the problem is, when using the brakes, the heat can damage the paint, unless he used specific paint meant for high head situation. So if he didn't, chances are the paint will come off once he starts riding. Heat is generated when your apply the brakes, over time, the paint will bubble and come off.

the guys funny. I like how he tried to sound all professional, but can't do anything more then threaten you with tracking your IP and calling the cops. "hello officer, this guy knows something about my stolen bike 111.255.23.46, he knows something please find him and do something, BTW hes also known as norco-man-won on pinkbike."

400 riders qualify for the main race. 400 X an avergage of $3000 per bike = 1.2 Mil. Now add in gear, average of what? $1000 per rider so total is around 1.6 mil.(more of course if you are above average for bike price.) Alot of money there. That is just for the 400 main rider. Doesn't count and hundreds more who didn't qualify, but can do a secondary race after.

i just watched a video of someone who put a cam on there bike. this looks like they already started, with so many bikes you can't ride your own bike for a while. It looks intense. PPl falling over, over the bars. I saw one guy just sliding with his bike down a snow hill. Someone who did the run, should start a thread about it. Love to hear info/stories.
